Maroon 5 is an American pop-rock band which was formed in Los Ángeles, California.
Before the creation of this band, the original four members: Adam Levine, Jesse Carmichael, Mickey Maddens and Ryan Dusick formed a band known as 'Kara's Flowers' in 1994, and they released their first album 'The Fourth World' but as it didn't had much success, they separated from their record label and they continued with their careers in college.
In 2001, they regruoped. But this time they were known as Maroon 5, and they add James Valentine to the group as lead guitar. In this period, they released 'Songs about Jane', which was their second album and the songs were written by Adam Levine dedicated to his ex-girlfriend Jane.
With this album they reached very high positions and they won the gold and platinum disc. Payphone, Sugar, MAPS are their most famous songs.
INTERNET OR BOOKS?
The internet has evolved a lot over the years. Now, the Internet can be used for everything, and is used by almost everyone. But before this, books were very frequently: Dictionaries, maps, atlas were used instead of the Internet. But now, books have been replaced.
The Internet, on one hand, is an useful, easy and fast tool to find what we need. But, perhaps, it isn't the most appopiate resource to exercise the brain. With books, however although they are more difficult to use, you have to use your head to find what you want.
I love both, Both the Internet and books are very interesting. Although, I personally use the Internet to find the information I need, and I use books for fun and entertainment.
My life
I was born in Málaga on September 9, 2000. I've never lived in a different country or house, that is, I have never moved. But I have a house on the outskirts of a village in Granada. When I was a child, I always spent my holidays there with my family because they all live there. Now I don't usually see them because I live in Málaga... I miss them so much, although I'm fine here.
I have a lot of earliest memories, but one of the most significant one was when my sister taugh me the songs of The Disney moveys (She was one of the people who influenced me the passion for music) and then, we sang those songs to my mum and she got thrilled.
I also remember when my uncle taugh me how to play the ''Happy Birthday'' song to my grandmother in a small piano that he had, and that's when I started playing the piano at a conservatory.
I've changed completely since I started highschool. I've never been a naughty girl and I'm more mature now. I've been at I.E.S Fernando de los Ríos for four years and I still have two more years left.. My future is so fuzzy, but I think when I finish high school, I'll go to University and I'll study a degree.
A Formal letter
- Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing this letter to communicate a very requested petition among the residents of our city.
Málaga is a big city and a municipality in Spain, it is located in the autonomous community of Andalusia. There are many interesting things to do in Málaga, but there is not a big enough hall to hold important concerts by very famous artists. We have Cervantes Theatre, but for the reason I mentioned before, the theatre is a bit small for any bigger event. Because of that, the poeple of Málaga would like to build a large hall for all kinds of events. This could provide leisure activities like concerts, performances, drama...
If you agree with our project or you have any question, please, do not hesitate to contact me. People would be very grateful.
Yours faithfully.
Candela Lozano.
Who was Anne Frank?
Anne Frank was born to a Jewish family in Frankfurt, Germany (1929).
When, in 1933, the Nazis came to power in Germany, her family thought they would be safer in Holland, so they went to live in Amsterdam.
For a few years they were safe. However, in 1940, the Germans occupied Holland and the family was once again living under Nazi control.
Otto, Anne's father, began making plans to hide himself and his entire family until the War was over.
On her 13th birthday - She had gone into hiding by then - Anne had a diary as a birthday present. For the two years she was in hiding, Anne wrote a detailed diart. She invented an imaginary friend, Kitty. In that diary, Anne wrote about her life, her family relationships and her own physical and emotional development.
On 6 July 1942, a month before Anne's birthday, the family went into hiding in a part of Otto's office building. Within a few months, four other people joined them. Four of Otto's staff knew about the hiding place and helped them to survive.
By Agayst 1944, Anne Frank and her family had been in hiding gor just over two years. The Franks were then betrayed. The Nazis found out about the hiding place and raided the office, arresting all eight people.
All were sent to Westerbork, a transit camp near Amsterdam. From here, they were sent to Auschwitz-Birkenau on the last ever transport from Westerbork to the camp. Anne's mother, Edith died in Auschwitz.
In octover 1944, Anne and her sister Margot were sent to Bergen-Belsen- The camp was extremely overcrowded:
The conditions were terrible, Anne and her sister both died of typhus in Bergen-Belsen in March 1945. Anne had lived until she was 15 years old.
Oscar Pistorius:
South African Oscar Pistorius, paralympic athelete, lost his legs, but he runs now helped with two carbon prothesis. He was second in the 400 meters test invitation Golden in Rome, where he made a time of 46.90.
In his first confrontation, in a meeting with athletes without disabilities, competing only against Italians in 400 meters, Pistorius raised up the applause from the audience at the Olympic Stadium in Rome, because despite a poor start which cost him to be the lost in the first half of the track then he made a remarkable comeback in the final, which took him to second place and close to the winner, the Italian Stephano Braciola (46'72) seconds.
This is a great example that if a person has a disability, he can do what he proposes with a lot of effort.
What happened?
I was riding my bike around the city at 12.00 pm when I heard a big slowdown and also a crashed sound.
I was very scared because I though that two cars had collided but no one really nkew what had happened.
When all the people noticed that a car had fallen into a hole, we quickly called the police to ask for help
A few minutes later, a police car arrived. They came out of the car and recommended us to stay away from the accident to avoid problems.
They put a fence and a security tape to investigate what had happened and see if there were wounded people.
No one was wounded but they were so worried and scared.
The story was that a family was going on vacation and the child started getting sick, then his parents got worriend about him and took their eyes off of the road.
The Suspect Crime:
One day, I was walking my dog in a field. It was early and I was totally alone.
Suddenly, I saw two men dressed in a black and it seemed like they were hiding something that they didn't want anyone to see.
They were so nervous and scared because they realized that someone was there. It was me.
By surprise, they ran to their car and I run after them but I fell to the ground because they were very fast.
But then I looked up and quickly I took a photo oh their license plate with my mobile phone.
I told this to the police and I showed them the photo.
The next time I saw them, they were in jail. They were hiding a corpse!

Lisas's birthday
Last week, we celebrated Lisa's birthday party. In a cute garden full of coloured ballons with surprises inside. She was nearly eight years old. She invited ten orphan children and all of her friends. She invited ten orphan children to share her hapiness with them. The purpose of the birthday party was, apart from having fun, sharing everything that she had. (food, presents...) The activities of the party would be, games such as Hide-and-seek, cook cookies... It was a great great brithday party.
The washer
The washer or washing machines is an appliance that is usually used for athome or for industrial use it. Is used for washing clothes. People have washed clothes for thousands of years. At first, people washed their own clothes in rivers and lakes. Even in the richest places, clothes were washed once a monts because hand washing was very complicated.
Before there were the washing machines of today a lot of different machines to wash clothes were invented. By 1691 in England, Jacob Christian Schaffer published his design. It consisted of a wooden barrel with a wheel and a lever, but it was expensive and difficul to use so only privileges people had one of these. The, in the 18th century, Henry Sidgier obtained a British patent for a rotating drum washer and it was more efficient than the previous one. Eventually, in 1862, Richard Londale displayd its ''Compact Rotary Machine'' patented in the Universal Exhibition, in London. Finally, that washer was a little bit more developed until recently. Now, washing clothes is more easy and more efficient!

Hi! allreplies, I''ve got a question because I'm so worried. I've always been a guy with good marks, healthy lifestyle, cheerful and not worries but lately I'm all the opposite of that and I think it could be because last week my parents bought me a new mobile phone. My previous mobile phone was so old and even had no camera! It was crazy. Now that I have this is like a novelty for me and it's so entertaining. I can't keep it away me and lately I feel so overwhelmed and stressed... However, I don't spend as much time to my studies as I used to and all is wrong since I have it. I want to know the advantages and disadvantages of this, I want to be more informed, sorry for the inconvenience and thanks!

Hi goodstudent! You're so worried about this and you don't have to be because your entertaining with it is completely normal. It's something that you haven't had before and novelty has this. MY FAVOURITES.
I'm not a big fan of fashion but if I have to choose my favourites I will choose these:
I've got four items! I've got a pair of ripped blue jeans. I love tem so I wear them on special ocassions because they are really cool. I've got a beautiful red and black checked shirt. I really love checked shirts, I've got 3 checked shirts. It's pretty crazy. I wear them all the time because they're always in! I0ve also got a denim jacket. It's so cute and I wear it for school. And the last items are a bit strange. They are like braces that are attached to trousers and they look so funny. I always wanted them. Well, these are my 4 favourite items and I love them!
UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF RIGHTS.
I chose these articles:
Article 1- All humans are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They're endowed with reason and conscience and shoyld act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.
- A violation of this right is for example that men are better paid than women when both do the same job. This is changing.
- Experts say that women earn 77 cents fir every dollar a man earns. At first glance it doesn't seem a big chance, but the it shows that they are not treated equally.
Article 4- No one shall be held in slavery or serviture; slavery and the slave trade shall be prohibited in all their forms.
- For example: Child trafficking is the third most lucrative trade, having each year 1'5 million children victims, sold forced to work in mines, in fields, in transport drugs...
- This is mainly due to poverty, which calls for the implementation of paid work in slavery.
RESTAURANT REVIEW.
La marina.
Everyone is talking about the restaurant 'La Marina', in Málaga.
In 'Carril de la chupa 2'. La marina is a seafood restaurant.
It has got delicious food like:
Cesar salad with honey, scrambled eggs with prawns, squid..
I love the cesar salad. It is also sweet, because of the honey but it's delicious, too.
The restaurant has delicious cakes and biscuits like cake three chocolate.
